North Coast

The North Coast is the strip along Egypt's northernmost edge, stretching 1,050 km along the Mediterranean from Rafah in eastern Sinai to Sallum on the Libyan border in the far west, and celebrated for its blue waters and soft golden sands. In common usage, however, the name refers to what was once known as the Mariout coast — the stretch west of Alexandria through El Hammam, El Alamein, Sidi Abdel Rahman, El Dabaa, Fouka, Ras El Hekma and Marsa Matrouh, then El Negila and Sidi Barrani, all the way to the Sallum crossing.
