Shams Alam Beach Resort is a 4-star hotel in southern Marsa Alam, on the southern road at kilometre 45, inside Wadi El Gemal National Park and facing Wadi El Gemal Island. It is one of the first hotels built in the area, in the late 1990s, and has 160 rooms spread across low-rise two-storey buildings. It suits divers, water sports enthusiasts, families and couples looking for a place far from the towns, bearing in mind that it is relatively far from Marsa Alam Airport.

Its private sandy beach stretches around 1 km, fronted by a house reef along the full length of the beach with direct entry from the sand, plus a jetty and 4 coral reefs.
